We are commanded by Jesus to not only be a disciple but to also go and make disciples.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Matthew 28:19

Jesus called us to be the lights of the world who reflect the love and the grace of Christ to those around us where we live, work, learn, and play.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16

We are created by God, in Christ, for a divine purpose to do good works. These good works are not the foundation but the result of our salvation. Our actions have the potential to positively influence those around us; drawing them from darkness into light, and ultimately bring glory to God.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

Ephesians 4:1
